|Christopher Liu OBE is an anterior segment and keratoprosthesis surgeon based in Brighton, England. He was born in Hong Kong to a medical family. He attended boarding school in England followed by medical school in London and ophthalmology training in London, Cambridge, Norwich and Rome. He is active in research with current research centred on artificial corneae and immediately sequential bilateral cataract surgery. He is Lead Consultant of the National OOKP Service in Brighton. He is also a pioneer in DMEK surgery. He has been President of MCLOSA, BSRS and SOS. He has been Honorary Secretary of UKISCRS. He has been Council Member and Trustee of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. He has some 250 publications in the ophthalmic literature. He was appointed an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2018 for Services to Ophthalmology.
