| Philipp Steven graduated from CAU to Kiel, Germany and received his doctoral degree in 2003 with magna cum laude. From 2003-2009 he was resident at the Department of Ophthalmology, University of Luebeck, Germany, where he became consultant and specialized on ocular surface disorders. From 2007-2009 Dr. Steven did a postdoctoral fellowship in the Mucosal Immunology Group in Luebeck and received his Habilitation in 2011. In the same year, he joined the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Cologne. Since 2014, Dr. Steven is director of the Competence Center for ocular GvHD and the Head of the Clinical Trials Center. Dr. Steven was appointed adj. Professor in 2017. In 2018 he became Head of the Division for Dry-eye an ocular GvHD. His Ocular Surface Research group investigates immune mechanisms, develops topical therapies and establishes novel imaging strategies to better diagnose and treat ocular surface diseases. He is member of ARVO, Excellence Cluster CECAD, FOR2240 and board member of IOSS. |
