| Ahmed Assaf is a professor of Ophthalmology in faculty of medicine, Ain Shams University. He is a fellow of the royal college of surgeons of Edinburgh and consultant of phaco-refractive surgery and shareholder in Alwatany eye hospital, Cairo.
Professor Assaf is interested in cataract surgery with premium IOLs and implementation of the most advanced technology such as Femtosecond laser in cataract and refractive surgery. He performs a lot of complicated cataract surgery with Intra-Scleral Haptic Fixation (ISHF), together with iris repair and different techniques of pupilloplasty.
Professor Assaf concerned as well with surface ablation profiles and Intra-Corneal Ring Segment (ICRS) for early and moderate cases of keratoconus, and different customized LASIK ablation profiles for refractive errors.
Doctor Assaf has 11 international peer-reviewed articles and presented more than 40 presentations in international meetings. He is a board member of the International Society of Refractive Surgery (ISRS) and got the award of achievement from the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) in 2017. |
