| .Miss Laura R Steeples MBChB (Hons), FRCOphth Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon and Uveitis Specialist, Manchester Royal Eye Hospital
Laura was appointed as a Consultant at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital in 2016 following completion of two years of subspecialty fellowship uveitis training at Bristol Eye Hospital and Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. She undertook speciality training in Manchester Royal Eye and was awarded the Royal College of Ophthalmologists Harcourt Medal in 2014 for the highest marks in the final FRCOphth examinations. She works in the Manchester Uveitis Clinic, providing tertiary care for adults and children. The clinic is one of the busiest services in Europe and provides training for national and international fellows. She is an Honorary Lecturer at University of Manchester and tutor at University of Edinburgh. She regularly presents at national and international uveitis meetings.Laura is active in clinical research, including principle investigator roles for clinical trials and participation in national and international uveitis projects. She has over 40 publications in peer reviewed journals and regularly reviews for major journals. She is a member of research networks including UK Uveitis National Study Group and Paediatric Ocular Inflammation Group. |
