Dr. William W. Culbertson is the Lou Higgins Distinguished Professor of Ophthalmology in the Department of Ophthalmology, the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Miami, Florida. He attended medical school at Emory University (1966 – 70), ophthalmology residency at Vanderbilt University (1971-74) and served fellowships in cornea, external diseases and uveitis at Bascom Palmer and the Proctor Foundation. He has been on the faculty of the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute since 1980 specializing in corneal diseases and refractive surgery. He serves as Director of the Cornea Service and of the Refractive Surgery Center at Bascom Palmer. His recent research interests have focused on anterior and posterior lamellar keratoplasty and femtosecond laser surgery. |
